news, spews, and farming weather reports..

18/08/11 :: RSS is the future of webnets!

As you can see Rhythm Plate really are at the bleeding edge when it comes to technology, so we're pleased to be experimenting with a new web format called RSS

If youre lucky enough to know what we're on about then you might even have summet called a fader which allows you to plug this link right into it to get up the quaterly Rhythm Plate news - http://feed43.com/0667754003013403.xml

12/06/11 :: You don't care..

..about the way (Rhythm Plate's Re-editing again), is the name of the latest effort spat out of the RP master archive of a million+ songs.

We know most of you don't care to pay for digital music, and TBH we dont think we should charge (unlike 90% of other producers!) for other peoples hard efforts and creativity, so get it while its FREE!

25/05/11 :: All Experimental Products have been recalled

You know when you hear something truly electronic sounding you have to ask yourself "what the hell made that?".. the stock reply amongst our mates typically goes "..something from. The future!".

Well thankfully you dont need to go to the future to get your head around this track as it was originally recorded along time ago in the past.. 30-odd years ago nearly. So naturally we felt we could bring it at least into the present - checkout Rhythm Plates Re-wired version

17/05/11 :: Matey Mateo and Matos

Been asked to remix a forthcoming track by the deep house famous Mateo and Matos

Should we do it? ..durrrgh, YES!

17/04/11 :: Felicio'd by a Boney M?

We've all been a bit typsy in one of them tacky nightclubs at some point in our measly existence - come on, admit it - if so, then the chances are that you at least heard a Boney M song whilst there.

Was you being felated at the time? what do you mean no?..

OK, if you havent then get your lug holes around this totally unpredictable re-edit of a cover song. Just to give you an idea of how forgotten that experience actually is.. Skeleton super kiss

11/01/11 :: We've been Framed

What a lovely track. Proper beautiful music, of the kind you'll prpbably be listening to when youre on that Stannar Stairlift up to the Pearly Gates no doubt..

So why have we gone and done what we've done to it, and then given it to you lot for FREE?

God (or Archangel Gabs) only knows.. cos we sure as shit don't know why?!? Frames - Rise (Rhythm Plate's High Rise Reconstruction)

11/09/10 :: Get Muaky at the Egg?

Smells a bit funny this, but Rhythm Plate are set to be DJing at a place called 'The Egg' in that there London on the 11th September - Trus'me its going to be cracking.

Vincenzo, Lovebirds, Trus'me, are just a few other DJs, oh, and expect the unusual LMD/Deep Rooted crew to be present - GIOM, Pete Dafeet, Nags, Ryan Bliss, Tony Blackburn, Chris Moyles, etc..

23/10/10 :: Why have we got it in for Mr Ronson?

We haven't. Honest.

We just want to do something special with his music. Thats special as in dislabeled, ..not amazing, so you know.

This time its Marky Marks 'Somebody to love me' with Man George and Mr Wyatt on vocals, which gets rewinded/fast forwarded to an early UK house stylee by us. OK, yeah, we know its not quite got as broad appeal as the straight up Disco sound, but yeah, make what you will of it..

10/10/10 :: Which man here honestly hates a morning glory?

Following hot on the heels of the Mark Ronson Disco rummage track, we've finally gone and let all you lot get your grubby mits on a FREE version of a track thats been sat on our mantle piece for some while now.. A disco cut of Alpha Blondy's all time reggae classic - Jah Glory.

We hope you enjoy it via our wonderfully free and dedicated soundcloud page

01/10/10 :: I hope we dont get bang bang banged up for this

You know when you actually quite like a vocal of a big commercial track but neither the original nor any of the remixes really mean much to your musical sphere?

Well, we figured that we could add to the pile of plop that is Mark Ronsons Bang Bang Bang and make our own version specifically for DJing out to hip rollerskaters jamming away in a park on a sunny weekend. Or more likely, thick townies smoking, spitting and swearing in the local bus shelter on a drizzly mid-week autumnal night blasting it out of their nicked iphones..

So why not feel free to join in either of these two common scenarios by freely downloading our effort via our super free soundcloud page. Jam on it!

pssst! ...is it just us but does she sing "no, aye aye-nal" @ 2:30mins?!?

11/09/10 :: Get Muaky at the Egg?

Smells a bit funny this, but Rhythm Plate are set to be DJing at a place called 'The Egg' in that there London on the 11th September - Trus'me its going to be cracking.

15/07/10 :: Anam Bar recordings Pt.2

As promised, heres part deux; some serious spears for yours ears..

Soundcloud = Rhythm Plate at Anam June 2010 Pt.2

10/07/10 :: Anam Bar recordings Pt.1

Heres the first part to us spinning some tracks at the cosy Anam bar in Angel - it was a pre-Sonar warm-up gig dontchaknow! Suck up this cos Part 2 is yet to follow once its transfered off the 8-track cassette.

Enjoy (or laugh; if only at how bad our mixing skillz are) cos Soundcloud = Rhythm Plate at Anam June 2010 Pt.1

20/06/10 :: RP in SONAR

Once again Rhythm Plate ruined a perfectly nice part of pleasant Spanish land by blurting out some chucky blocks of music to Barcelonians

See what we did and how we did it here..

30/03/10 :: Remixing the Generals of Lawnchairs

Top new track which features local vocal talent Mr Alexander East Midlands has been ruined by us Rhythm Plate lads... OK, yeah, there were a few delays due to a late spring (damn lambs didnt want to come out there mums tums!) meaning we only just got this mix to them in time - but thank a rock rolling dead jesus that we did!

Its up on trax source now but dunt get a proper release until the 19th of april

Can I get a ea-star yee-har??

20/11/09 :: Love Birds?

We definitely do. We also love fat birds that get drunk on classy drinks like, WKD and that.

Id even go so far as to say that we Love Birds so much we're willing to DJ with a bloke that goes by that name. SO! If you want to witness some potential artifice then thank them Lesta based boys City Fly for inviting you lot to fancy bar 54 in fancy London on the 20th of Novemeber, if only to watch us Rhythm Platers attempt to do what Mr Love Birds will do probably really well. Mix some housey type records.

Should be a good laugh, so get fulfilled with Farcebook here duck.

07/11/09 :: Grab some Swag with an RP in-store apperance

Yep, we're on hand to tell random people, producers, DJ's, nuns and Paedos how not to promote, market or make yourself known basically. Get boozed and tooled up with some mint shiny new vinyls with us, Terry Francis, Giom, Pete Dafeet, Nick Dare and YSE all at the classic shop Swag Records in Croydon on a sunny sat afternoon.

In fact, RP's wordses wont do this proper justice so get thee sen to this page for the full lowdown... see you there ;)

http://www.lostmydog.net/archives/1138

26/09/09 :: Retune a Detune? We're going back to our roots this month and DJing at somewhere we started - kind of. OK, Detune are allowing us back on the decks following a lengthy hiatus/reflection period!!

So, alongside Londons Peg Party meister (or should that me mistress?) Miss Fitz and Matlocks finest novelty beat finder Ben Stunt, we'll also be swatting music on some platters.

So get thee sen down Rockshots in Chesterfield on the 26th.

18/07/09 :: Mi Casa tu casa

That ? is Italian for 'Theres a burglar in my house'. Its also English for a blutty good night out, or in if you live at Saltwater?.

Nottinghams most regular deep house crew, MHYH, are celebrating 5 years in business by throwing multiple do's over three days - we're DJing at one of them. That'll be the one that falls on the 18th of july, which is a saturday, which is nice... more info to come as soon as Teletext puts it out.

10/07/09 :: Its (definitely NOT) a London (DJing) 'ting.. Following earlier reports of an RP DJ gig at East Village with them 'uptown boogie down funk off jack on' lads, it looks like its been postponed until further notice.

We're not entirely sure why either but, as you know, here at RP HQ we arent the types to cause any roast beef between friends, but the rumour mill has it that the venue has an infestation of Frogs. As a result Health and Safety have shut it down until its all cleared up.

We'll let you know of any new dates of course.

20/06/09 :: Echo location takes RP to Barcelona

Natures amazing int it? I mean, how do animals manage to locate themselves using submarine technology??? we bet it requires some serious teaching skills and brain thinking..

Whats that? would you like to learn it to? DEFO!!! After all, how many time have you had a one too many sherberts and wished the pissed bus/taxi had whisked you home and into your own bed, rather than have you wake at some random location (like an after party, a bush or a park bench) half covered in culinary kebab juice, missing your wallet but freezing your gizzard off wondering what just happened 3-4 hours earlier?

Well, Sonar in Barcelona sounds like the place to be on the 20th of july to learn such modern defence skills. Rhythm Plate will be on hand to play you field recordings of badgers, bats and homing pigeons at the prestigous Angels and Kings, which is part owned by Fall Out Boy (the famous nuclear bunker manufacturers, so if you can't feel safe there..!).

ps. thickys need not apply.

10/04/09 :: April Fools DJing

We're Djing in Matlock on the 10th of April for a Wobble. Whats a Wooble then? well, i cant explain it but you can get more details about it over at that place where your mum hangs out to see what youve been up to/how pissed youve been recently, defacebook.com

16/02/09 :: Kolour me bad

As predicted by the most reliable resident Astronomer for the Matlock Miracle Newspaper, Terry Gazon, Dirty has been released on Kolour Recordings in Vinyl format. So use it to cover your kitchen or bathroom floor.

Check it out at these places (amongst many), if you like: Juno HTFR Uptown Records

14/12/08 :: BBC Radio 1 playing RP music? ..Node Out it was!!

Over at RP HQ we like to think we have our fingers on the pulse of modern society with all its running water and 4 TV channels. So you'll be surprised as us to learn that its only just come to our attention that 'Node Out' was played on BBC Radio 1's Groove Armada stand-in-for-Pete-Tong show back in April 2007!

We both didnt know that music could be speeded up and played that fast without it getting dizzy, but cheers Mr Big C and er, the other one.. Tom?

Heres an MP3 clip of the show

28/10/08 :: Was the Kolour of Dirty

Yep, Rhythm Plate have new 12" due early 2009 on US label Kolour Recordings. Its called 'Dirty' and features some words clevery strung togther to make what some folk call a sentance, and whats more impressive is that it all been done by a nice young Woman. Yep, we're as shocked as you are that this has been able to happen and come out the way it has, but we're actually quite pleased with the result. Anyway, remixes have been telephoned in by Bleep District and YSE, so that should make all the difference.

28/04/08 :: Step 2 txt bby tlk.. ga-ga-goo.. durrr

When aliens finally land and have a laugh out our expense, we reckon that txt messaging talk will be one of the most embarrasing things that mankind will eventually have devolved into using as everyday speech. By todays standards its gone beyond just mobile phones, on to emails, and into song titles.. So why would anyone want to use it except to announce that they can spell? As if we'd ever do that...

So it comes as a surprise that Candy Apple have chosen 2 cal ther nu trk 'Step 2 Me'. We have remixed it, or rather slowed it down...

10/09/07 :: RP are working in the shed on a few new full vocal tracks for your ears...

One is of our mate Clive caught singing in the bath and the other one is with a New Yoik based singer called Frank. We like both in equal measures. The Clive one is a slinky number with extra remixes by YSE (ant plate) and er, us.

28/08/07 :: Robbin' Hudd is in town

Looks like we've got another 12" due out sometime soon! This time its with Yorkshires Finest.. No, no, not the Tea company, we're on about Hudd Traxxx Records of course.

Its called the Robbin' Hudd EP and its release date is yet to be determined (summet to do with the pressing plants midget staff getting too big for their boots and striking - thus resulting in it closing down) but its looking like it's gonna be early september at this rate: so just in time for Summer starting, woo!

so go on, get in. and then get out quick before you all start behaving like a group of post rave ASBO kids outside a norfolk cop shop...

29/07/07 :: Re:Re:Re:Mix

Currently riding high in T4's Pop world chart is our remix of Andy Touchfingers "Ha Ha, Made you look!"

Much like our other remixes this one has a kick drum and a hi-hat pattern. To give you an idea what im talking about and in a 'non-technical' way, we'd say its similar to them old disco records you hear at weddings and on Gem AM radio.

Its available now at your usual vinyl killer (or Digital, as the kids call it today) stockists, so go and grab a copy while you can..

19/05/07 :: So, do you come here often?

Nah, neither do we.. we've been far too busy enjoying the lovely British Summer weather - making hay will the rain, well.. rains and drunky djing at various places up and down the derbyshire dales. So, 'til next time, ta-ra!

21/02/07 :: Om is where the heart is..

Rhythm Plates remix of "ben armswrong and randals suing"s most excellent 'wrong turn' track has only gone and got licensed to some Hippie record label called "Om". Its not even available int shops yet either.

Statistics prove that 90% of people dont listen to any of the first 17 tracks on any dj mix CD.. so we're ok, cos we're the very last one. Noice.

01/01/07 :: Happy New Skool Year!

21/12/07 :: So near, yet so far away

Rhythm Plates contender for the UK's christmas number one pop record, "Music from Our Souls" wasnt achieved, instead we came a respectable 298.

Apparently we were only 2981 copies short of the number one spot.

01/12/06 :: Early Rhythm Plate Track BOOTLEGGED!!

Now we are well well famous n that..

Leg-end Timmy Regisford from New Yoik's famous charity, The Shelter, has bizarrely/kindly sampled a 16-bar loop from Rhythm Plate's "Sound Of Rhythm Plate" track which featured on our ground-braking "Masters At Wirksworth" EP on DiY Discs released back in 1999, and swat an accapella from Kenny Bobien's "U Gave Me Love" over the top

Heres our track..
